Specification

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time, Part-time, Bank 

Salary: 

  • Support Worker £11.50 - £11.80 ph. 
  • Senior Support Worker £ 11.90 - £12.70 ph. 

Salary dependent upon relevant qualifications and experience  

Sleep Rate: £65.00 per sleep 

Overtime rate: 1.5 x hourly rate (subject to contract) 

You will be required to work shifts which include sleep in duties, weekends, and bank holidays. 

Requirements: 

  • Over 21 years old (in accordance with OFSTED Regulations)
  • Experience working with vulnerable Children, Young People or Adults (6 months minimum) (Essential) 
  • Have or working towards or willing to start, Level 3 / 4 Diploma in Residential care / Children and Young People / Health and Social Care or OFSTED recognised equivalent (Desirable) 
  • Driving License (Desirable) 

PLEASE NOTE: Please be advised you will be subject to an enhanced DBS check - this will be funded by the Company. 

Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): 

  • To provide support for the residents in our homes, to promote their independence and well-being whilst providing a therapeutic care environment.  
  • To act as a key worker for designated resident(s) (as required). 
  • To engage and actively encourage residents to take part in activities both in and out of the home. Support residents to attend school, college, training and / or work placements. 
  • To support residents' engagement with external bodies such as Parent / Carer contact, Social Worker and health and well-being services. 
  • To engage in continuous professional development including mandatory clinical training and reflective practice. 
  • To contribute to the daily running of our homes in line with our organisational policies, company ethos and regulatory requirements. 
  • To ensure the safety of residents and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all plans; individual care plans, pathway plans, etc, and safeguarding policies.  
  • To consistently follow safe practices to support and deescalate behaviours that may challenge when needed and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.  
  • To provide sleep in support (as contracted). 
  • To develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals that may be involved in residents' lives. 
  • To contribute and adhere to the Home(s) and Company's risk management practices and procedures.  
  • To ensure the environment of the home is kept clean / tidy and well maintained 
  • To cook / provide / promote well-balanced, healthy meal choices for residents as required, 
  • To promote healthy lifestyle choices and follow safeguarding / missing from home procedures in line with individual / home / company policies. 
  • Keep up to date records, e.g. Daily logs, monthly reports, etc.
