Permanent, Full-time, Part-time 

Salary: 

£29,432 - £33,000 pa (Salary dependent upon relevant qualifications and experience)  

Sleep Rate

£65.00 per sleep 

Overtime rate

1.5 x hourly rate (subject to contract) 

You will be required to work shifts which include sleep in duties, weekends, and bank holidays. 

Requirements: 

  • Over 21 years old (in accordance with OFSTED regulations] 
  • Experience working with vulnerable Children, Young People or Adults (3yrs minimum) (Essential) 
  • Level 3 / 4 Diploma in Residential care / Children and Young People / Health and Social Care or OFSTED recognised equivalent (Essential) 
  • Driving License (Desirable) 

PLEASE NOTE: Please be advised you will be subject to an enhanced DBS check - this will be funded by the Company. 

Roles and Responsibilities (include but not limited to): 

  • To oversee the Home in the absence of the Home manager (business continuity)  
  • Co-ordinate and monitor staffing levels within the home to ensure that individual needs are met.  
  • Assist the Registered Home Manager in ensuring that there is an appropriate Statement of  
  • Purpose for the home and that this document is updated on a regular basis.  
  • Ensure that KPIs/Quality Assurance measures are met in line with Company standards and targets  
  • Contribute and be involved in the company’s selection and recruitment process.  
  • Assist the Registered Home Manager in providing operational management of the staff team and to deploy staff resources in order that key objectives are fulfilled.  
  • To organise, deliver and co-ordinate induction, supervision, appraisal, and support to individual staff.  
  • Review the implementation of care plans in line with legislation and company guidance.  
  • To ensure that views, wishes and feelings of residents are heard; and that those views, wishes and feelings are responded to in a timely and fair manner. 
  • To actively promote Equality and Diversity for all.  
  • Be the designated/Lead person in charge in the Manager’s absence and conduct meetings with staff and Young People where appropriate.  
  • To be a part of an on-call management system outside of designated hours.  
  • Ensure that staff understand and implement the relevant safeguarding procedures in line with home, regulatory and Company care policy guidance.  
  • Ensure that the protection and welfare of young people / young adults is the paramount consideration to the staff team.  
  • Ensure that the standards within the home are maintained and developed in line with the Care Standards Act 2000 and current Children’s Homes Regulations.  
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, paying particular attention to Health and Safety legislation and environmental health needs.  
  • Ensure that the company’s accounts management requirements are adhered to and manage identified budgets.  
  • Attend training programmes as required and identify your own, the teams and individuals' training needs. 
  • To lead on and actively promote the development of progressive initiatives within the home.   
  • Liaise with other professional agencies.  
  • To lead on and oversee effective partnership working, within and outside of the Home.  
  • To lead/manage support with Regulatory visits/inspections as required  
  • To work proactively with monitoring bodies to ensure that services are compliant and standards are maintained as a minimum ‘Good.’  
  • To ensure that risk management systems at all levels are robust  
  • Undertake any other such duties assigned by the Director, Senior managers, or Homes Manager
